One of the most annoying things: your golf ball sits on the edge of the cup. You did your best to get it to the hole and it just sits there. You have 10 seconds to see if a miracle happens. You are pissed, your buddies are laughing at you. You’re hoping for a wind to blow it in. Even for non golf players this is a great metaphorical work: Sitting on the edge of one’s seat: that moment of “aarrrghhh we’re almost there!”
